On Friday 14 November, Leif Ove Andsnes joined a star studded line up to launch the brand new concert hall in Bodø, in the North of Norway. Playing a movement from Beethoven’s Appassionata Sonata on the hall’s new Steinway- which Leif Ove had personally helped to pick from the factory in Hamburg – both piano and hall were given a grand welcome with a full evening’s broadcast on national Norwegian TV.
Leif Ove returns to the new hall tonight to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no. 5 with the Arctic Philharmonic Orchestra and Christian Lindberg before travelling even further north to Tromsø for a further performance tomorrow.
