With his impeccable technique, lyrical vein, and highly sensitive interpretations, celebrated Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes has gained worldwide recognition by playing in the world’s leading concert halls. He has been a resident artist at the Berlin and New York Philharmonics and the Gothenburg Symphony, directed music festivals in the United States and Europe, and won numerous awards, such as the Hindemith Prize Frankfurt, the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik and the Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards. At the same time, he dedicates himself to an extensive discography, with more than 50 titles – including solo, chamber and concert releases – covering a repertoire ranging from the baroque to the present day and, often, exploring rarely recorded gems. He is a seven-time recipient of the Gramophone Awards.
