The Müncher Merkur reviews Leif Ove’s performance of Beethoven Piano Concertos nos 3 & 5 with the Munich Philharmonic and Thomas Dausgaard

“What we heard in this concert with the Munich Philharmonic at Gasteig, reached closer to the optimum approach to Beethoven. Crucially – and completely convincingly –  thanks to Andsnes: he exhibits the results of deep reflection … Everything is developed from within and is purely musical so that the usual clichés associated with the Emperor Concerto never come to mind. His rubato is completely natural … The sound is clear-cut to crystalline: Extreme discrimination characterizes the Norwegian’s playing.”
