Germany’s Hessische Rundfunk singles out the Beethoven Journey as CD of the day on 22 October commenting
“Andsnes embarks on his journey into Beethoven with the 1st and the 3rd Piano Concertos. When you join him, you will experience a fresh and very much alive performance of Beethoven, modern in the sense that here is less the Symphony, but rather chamber music between soloist and orchestra dominated by the very clear and differentiated sound of the piano with a corresponding bright orchestral sound which is slightly spiced with historical sharpness.”
