“Leif Ove Andsnes is not only one of the world’s best musicians, he is also a bandleader of a different class. This year he has started a very exciting project where he and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra travel around the world, performing Beethoven’s five piano concertos. In addition to the concerts, they will record three CDs of all the concertos. After hearing piano concertos No. 1 and 3 in the Grieg Hall during the (Bergen) Festival, this will no doubt be one of 2012’s biggest musical highlights.
